Fuji X-T5 for street photography?

Anyone using the X-T5 for street photography? How do you find it?

I have an X-S20, but i have a dodgy eye and could do with a larger EVF, also the flip-out reticulating screen on the X-S20 is kinda irritating - i’d rather just be looking straight down, rather than down and to the side. The increased megapixels would also be useful for cropping possibilities for my macro work.

Not sure if i’d actually really benefit from an upgrade, or if this is just GAS…

Yes!

I used to use the X-S10 which I really liked other than the flippy screen. I decided to replace it with the X-T5 because I wanted to try the new sensor, plus have the dials, and also the screen and weather resistance.

I love the X-T5! Definitely more fun and the screen with vertical and horizontal flip is great. Ergonomically it’s just as comfortable despite having a smaller grip.

Only downside of X-T5 is the build quality. Feels a bit plasticky to me, but that’s all modern Fujis.

I think it’s the best (features annd image quality) and most fun interchangeable lens camera you can get for the money.

Thanks for the info! Do you find the larger EVF noticeable? It hurts my eye to look at it on the XS20, have tried adjusting it etc.

I was in a similar situation. After using the Fuji X-S10 for over two years, I switched to the X-T5 last December. The main reason was to have a body with weatherseals, a better viewfinder and a tilt screen.
Overall I am very happy with the change, I was afraid of the new 40 MP sensor, but I have to admit I really like the image it generates. The viewfinder as well as the screen is also on the plus side.
In addition, I just love the sound of the shutter!
In fact, the only downside I personally see is the feeling of “cheapness” of the finish of this body. To be honest, more pleasant and “premium” was the more than twice cheaper X-S10 (which, after selling it, I am even much more appreciate than before because of the build quality and general capabilities in relation to both price and size).

Honestly? I can’t remember! I just compared with my X100V and I wouldn’t say it’s that noticeable. I think it’s a bit larger but there’s not a huge amount in it, at least to my eyes. It does have the rubber surround though which helps.

Arrived! Feels great to hold, and all the buttons and dials

More importantly the EVF is much nicer and doesn’t hurt my eye as much.

Great news!

Have fun with it! And yes, EVF is much more better than in X-S10 or 20
